William Pat Patrick Banion, age 75, of Havana, Kansas died Friday, October 17, 2014 at his home in Havana, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Mike Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Havana Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel of Caney, Kansas.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. You can leave a message for the family online at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.

The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Wounded Warriors Foundation and contributions may be left at Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas.

William Pat Patrick Banion was born May 31, 1939 in rural Independence, Kansas to Lester and Lottie Kelley Banion. He grew up in Independence, Kansas and graduated from Independence High School in 1958. Pat also graduated from the McFarland Trade School in Coffeyville, Kansas. In June of 1958, Pat entered the United States Navy and served on the USS Monticello. He was stationed in San Diego, Hawaii and Alaska until he was honorably discharged in 1962.

On January 8, 1965 Pat married Connie Jean Doub in rural Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in rural Independence, Kansas before moving to Havana, Kansas in 2009. Pat was a skilled machinist for 39 years.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Banion of the home in Havana, Kansas one son, Kevin and wife Stacy Banion of Independence, Kansas one daughter, Gina and husband Kevin Clubine of Havana, Kansas one sister, Marsha Ashford of Independence, Kansas five grandchildren, Mark Johnson, Matthew Debo, Malarie Garretson, Tyler Clubine and Trenton Clubine and four greatgranddaughters.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Lottie Banion and three brothers, Rodney, Gerald, and Allen Banion.

Arrangements are under the care of Potts Chapel of Caney, Kansas.
