Steven Johnson was born in Los Angeles, California on November 23, 1960 to Arlo Johnson and Donna Opdycke. Steven was the third child born within a year apart. Steven lost his father in a tragic accident when he was only one year of age. Donna Opdycke was left a widow at the young age of nineteen and raised three small children all under the age of three. Steven's mother then married Greg Van Proyen, six years later of which, he raised them as his own. It was two years later when younger brother Erik and Beth came along. Steven grew up in the Antelope Valley and graduated from A.V. Highschool. He was a star athlete and loved the competition of sports, including baseball, tennis, rugby, and wrestling. Steven excelled at everything he did. Steven loved the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing and he especially loved trapping with all his many friends. Steven’s first love was his love for God and Souls. He always had a story to tell. Steven never met a stranger and loved to talk "Story" with everyone he met.

Steven loved the Island life with his wife and children. Fishing, surfing or just hanging out on the beach was his favorite past time. Steven's love of family ran very deep, especially his love for his children. Steven became a father at the young age of 18 with his first child Kym Johnson and his other daughter Nichole Johnson of whom he called "Coco" his little "Coco Bean". Steven then married Trudy D"Amore of Honolulu, HI in February of 1991, and had his first son Steven on December 05,1991. He was so excited to have a boy to give his name to. Then had Joshua four years later in November 30,1995. His Buddy Caleb came along nine years later on February 21, 2004. Steven loved being a dad and taking his boys surfing. Steven had an active part in all his children's lives such as being their soccer coach and number one cheer leader. Steven and Caleb were like two peas in a pod and loved to go to storage locker auctions, fishing and working on cars together. Steve his oldest son, named after him. Nicknamed "TOO" and other son "Joshie" loved to go snorkeling and looking for sea shells in the Hawaii ocean. Steven was always devoted to all the boys’ sports and stepped up to the plate to be their coach for soccer, baseball, and various other activities.  Hawaii was his love and he always loved the beach and "Aloha Spirit".  Me (his sister) will never forget my brother " The Jokester" of the family. Always making us laugh and bragging about how he was the best looking of the family and pretty much "The Best at Everything". We always called him a " Momma's Boy" " Buffu" Dog and/or "Baby Huey" He loved to tease his brother Arlo to death and then go run to momma after he instigated the fight. Most of all Steven Gene Johnson got saved at a young age and loved to read and study the word of God daily. He always took the time to share the love of Christ and share his testimony of how God saved his life from drugs and alcohol. I know he wouldn't want us to cry for him, because he's with his "Jesus in Glory" and now he's talking story all day long with his Savior. John 14:2 " In My Father's house are many mansions if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
