Ruth Fecht

Ruth Irene Fecht (Irene), 100, Passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the Cherryvale Care Center in Cherryvale, Ks.

Irene was born on August 5, 1922, in Mound Valley, Kansas to Homer and Anna Elizabeth Gramly. Ruth attended and graduated from Caney High School. On May 26, 1940, Irene married William Fecht and the two made their home in Caney.

Irene spent many years employed as a teachers aid at Lincoln Elementary School. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, quilt making, and raising her children.

Later in life Irene was very involved in First Christian Church and Cornerstone Church and loved being a part of the Christian Woman Fellowship.

Irene is preceded in death by her Husband, William Fecht, Son Ronald Fecht, Sisters Phyllis Cvetkovich and Wilma Walls, Brothers Don and Richard Gramly and Daughter in Law Jimmie Sue. Those left to carry on her memory are her Sons William and Richard Fecht, Daugher Joyce McWherter, and brother Roger Gramly

The family will receive visitors on December 27, 2022 from 5pm - 7pm at Potts Chapel in Caney

Services to celebrate Irene's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Cornerstone Church, Caney.

The family has entrusted Potts Chapel with arrangements.
