Roy Lopez

Roy Lopez, 76, of Caney, Ks passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Potts Chapel of Caney. Memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and can be left with the funeral home.
Roy was born December 27, 1941 in Artesia, New Mexico. He was one of ten children to Neil and Delores. He was raised in California and traveled around the United States before settling in Caney, Kansas. Once in Caney he became a linesman. On April 29, 1976 Roy married the love of his life, Patricia Ranes. Together they have one daughter, Angela Purcell.
Roy enjoyed fishing, taking country cruises, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Being "Papa" was a true blessing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia, daughter Angela, two grandsons; Jeremy Nave and Garret Sheets and granddaughter Kylie Sheets.
