Rosie Lee King passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel of Caney.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow at the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas from noon til 4pm.
Rosie was born on June 14, 1942. She was the daughter of Tom Pyle and Clara May Albertson. She grew up and attended schools in Pawhuska and Nowata. Rosie received her cosmetologist license and worked for local beauty salons. She also owned her own beauty shop. She later was a cook for the Caney Public Schools.
She married Jerry Mattix on February 24, 1957. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1960. She later married Donald Lee King on June 15, 1961. Donald also preceded her in death on December 19, 2014.
Rosie enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO, going to the casinos and fishing. She liked to bake cookies for the Boy Scout Troop #3 and loved being the "Troop 3 Grandma".
She is survived by her daughter Nancy King, brother Bill Pyle, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Rosie was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, husband Donald, sons; Robert W. Mattix and Steven Ray King, brother Leonard Ray Pyle and sister Julia May Riff.
