Richard McBride, 64, of Caney, Kansas, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015, at his home.

Richard Earl McBride was born August 4, 1951, Coffeyville, Kansas, the 2nd of 2 children to Clarence
Earl McBride and Willetta Vernona [[][[]][[][[]]]Rhodus] McBride.

Richard grew up in Caney, attended schools there, graduating high school in 1969. He attended Coffeyville Junior College and Wichita State University.

He owned his own business, McBride TV in Coffeyville, 1981 to 1997. He was then employed by John Deere, Coffeyville for 17 years, retiring in 2014. His hobbies included electronics, wood working, and music.

Richard was an avid and talented trombone player, playing for several local and inter-state bands, including The Rising Suns, the Red Dogs, the Bartlesville Symphony, Coffeyville Community Band, Independence Community Band, the SEK Trombone Choir, and finally the group "Sober As A Judge". He was a member of the First Christian Church in Caney.

Survivors blessed by his memory are his wife, Sandra of the home, three sons - Todd, Ryan, and Jason, brother Dale McBride of Caney, one nephew Shawn McBride of Singapore, numerous cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father Earl in 2008 and mother Willetta in 2013.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at the First Christian Church, Caney, with Pastor Bill Wright officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery, Caney, under the direction of Potts Chapel Funeral Home, Caney. Visitation service will be Tuesday, September 29, 2015, with family present between 5:00 and 8:00pm, at Potts Chapel Funeral Home, Caney.
