Rebecca Lou Oshel, 61, of Caney, Kansas passed away unexpectedly at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

Rebecca was born in Burlington, Kansas, the 7th child of 8 to Hubert and Rosetta (Wilson) Oshel. She graduated from George West High School in George West, Texas in 1978. After high school married Henry Saenz. She then attended Bee County College in Beeville, Texas and earned her Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Then on December 19, 2006, she married the love of her life, Ron Braden in Gonzalez, Texas. Through the years, Rebecca worked a variety of jobs, she worked as a volunteer at the Fire Department, Tiger Tote, a police dispatcher, and most recently at Walmart. Rebecca loved riding motorcycles, reading romance novels, watching old westerns and guns, but most of all she loved her family fiercely. The time she spent with her loved ones was always the most cherish times. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Rosetta Oshel, son Billy Ray Braden, brother, Wallace Oshel, and sisters, Betty Austin and Patricia Lamb.

Her memory will carry on with her husband, Ron Braden of Caney, Kansas, son, Henry Saenz II of Gonzalez, Texas, daughters, Rose Marie Rakowitz of Kennedy, Texas, Jessica Braden of San Antonio, Texas, Regina Braden of Ohio, and Rachel Wickersham of Arizona, brother, Jesse Oshel, sisters, Marry Squires, Hellen Sallee, and Jo Ellen Slaughter, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visitation will be held at Potts Chapel in Caney on Tuesday, October 5th with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Rebecca’s life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Caney, Kansas on Wednesday, October 6th at 10:00 am.
