Naomi was born April 12, 1935 in rural Caney, KS on the Conley Ranch to Bill and Josephine (Simpson) Carinder. She grew up in Caney, KS and graduated from Caney High School in 1953. On November 19, 1954 Naomi married Bob Harriman at her parent's home in rural Caney. The couple made their home in various locations. In their early-married life, they began in the rural Caney area then moved to Cherryvale then to Texas. They returned to their roots in Caney then followed a dream by ranching in Idaho. They returned to their final homestead farm west of Cherryvale.

Naomi was multi-talented and held various positions throughout her accomplished career life such as: dental assistant to Dr. Hansen, a bank secretary, a switchboard operator, a waitress, and she also worked at Sunflower Farms in Cherryvale. Naomi was also a homemaker - but she made the home! She and Bob worked side by side on their dairy farm where she worked from dawn to dusk. Once Naomi retired from her farm tasks, she continued sharing her love by nurturing her grandchildren and other dearly loved children in her home, while also finding time for the elderly in the community. She was a member of Hazeldell Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale where she played the piano and gave her all to the church family.

Survivors include her husband Bob, still residing at their farm home, oldest son Glen and wife Donna Harriman of Whitleyville, TN, daughter Lois and husband Kevin Lay of Coffeyville, KS, and youngest son Chuck and wife Lana Harriman of Lawrence, KS. Brother Bill and wife Evelyn Carinder of Caney, KS, sister Ethel Dunn of Pawhuska, OK, sister-in-law Phyllis Harriman of Tulsa, OK, brother-in-law Sam Levisee of Fort Worth, TX, and many cousins -including a special cousin, Marge. Grandchildren: Angel, Mandi, Vince, Erin, Justin, Micah, Kolby, Courtney, Erick, Regan and Holly. Great grandchildren: Hanna, Trever, Tierra, Lilly, Tommy, Luke, Jake, Mallory, Marissa, Abigail and Coy. Finally, great-great granddaughter Amelia Rose.
