Michael Scimeca Iii

Michael (Mike) William Scimeca III, 77 of Caney, went to be with our Lord on March 24, 2023.

He was born to Dr. Michael William Scimeca II & Rosemary (Bryant) Scimeca on June 30, 1945 in Tulsa, OK.

Mike attended Caney schools & graduated in 1963. He was State golf Sand Greens champion his junior year of high school.

He went on to earn  a degree from Coffeyville Community College as an Associate of Arts in 1970.  He went to Emporia State College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1971. He then attended KU where he got a Master's in psychology.

He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs football team fan & attended many games. When he couldn't be there he would watch the games on TV, which he loved.

He was a member of the Air National Guard & served 2 years in Korea.

He was married to Patti Bryant of Coffeyville. They made their home in Chanute. Mike later made his home in Caney.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Surviving siblings include Michele (Micky) Yuval of Homestead, FL, Rob Scimeca of Caney, Tom Scimeca of Caney & Patti Absher of Caney. Numerous cousins including Tim Scimeca of Wichita. Also numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews including Kyla Scimeca of Bartlesville and Jacque Love of Caney.

Internment will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Methodist Church of Caney.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 with the family receiving visitors from 5pm - 7pm.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Potts Chapel-Caney
