Linda Lundquist

August 18, 1950 — July 10, 2018

Linda Kay Lundquist (Blankinship) completed her life journey peacefully surrounded by family and close friends in her home on July 10, 2018 in Caney Kansas. She was 67.

Kay as she preferred to be called is survived by her husband Gary Lundquist of the home; daughters Angie Metcalf and her husband Chuck of Bartlesville Oklahoma and Tina Kelly of Caney Kansas; grandchildren Brandon Metcalf of Bartlesville, Brad Metcalf of Tulsa, Brice Metcalf of Bartlesville and Sean Crismas, Jessica Brown and Elijah Kelly of Caney; great grandchildren, Nora, Maritza, and Brice Metcalf, Braylee Brown, Braxton Pendergraft, Carsyn Bullen, and Amelia Owens; brothers Jack Blankenship and his wife Rose of Mesa Arizona, Terry Blankinship and his wife Linda of Sycamore Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. Kay is preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Athalee Blankenship, brother Keith Blankinship, and one great grandchild Alexandra Metcalf.

Kay was born on August 18, 1950 in Independence to Dennis and Athalee (Tucker) Blankinship. She attended and graduated from school in Independence Kansas. On December 2, 1966 she married John Kelly in Independence Kansas. They were later divorced. On June 16, 1990 she married Gary Lundquist in Mesa Arizona. Kay and Gary later moved to Caney Kansas where on their 25th wedding anniversary they renewed their vows in a family celebration in their home.

Kay was the owner of several businesses throughout the years including a pet shop, hair salons and a liquor store. She was also employed by Regis as a corporate consultant overseeing operations of many of their salons.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Kay loved and was loved by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. To them she was known as Grams Kay, Honey, GG and Auntie Kay.

Visitation will be held at Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas on Friday July 13th with the family greeting friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday July 14th at the Caney First Assembly of God Church with burial following at Rutland Cemetery. Kay's battle was against bile duct cancer.
