Josh Sanders

Joshua Shayne Sanders passed away on October 28, 2019 in Caney, KS. Cremation has taken place with Potts Chapel of Caney. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Cornerstone Church in Caney, Kansas at 10:00am.

He was born on December 13, 1979 to Kenneth and Billie Sanders in Sedan, KS. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14. He attended Caney Schools, graduating in 1998. He also attended Coffeyville Community College for EMT training. Over his lifetime he attended many firefighter trainings. He was a member of the Caney Fire Department for 20+ years. He worked at Town & Country Supermarket and Gunny Sack in Caney. He was a supervisor at Apria Healthcare in Independence, Tulsa, and Kansas City.

He was united in marriage to Jessie Gwinn on June 16, 2006. They later divorced. He is survived by 2 daughters, Arianna and Jaycee, of Caney, his parents and one sister, Chris Bannon, and husband Mark, one niece, Sarah Bannon, one nephew, Noah Bannon, all of Caney.

Other survivors include friends, Robert Carinder, of Oklahoma City, Jessie Sanders, of Caney, Sara, Ethan, Eli and Addison King, of Bartlesville, Camryn Waggoner, Tina Kelly, Elijah Kelly, Scott Reeves, Deanna King, all of Caney.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorials to an education fund for his daughters, Arianna and Jaycee. Memorials may be left at Potts Chapel in Caney or mailed to Arianna Gwinn and or Jaycee Sanders, in care of Caney Community National Bank, 501 E. 4th Ave., Caney, KS 67333.
