Jackie Buttel

Jackie F. Buttel, age 79 of Caney, Kansas passed away at her home on Thursday, January 21, 2021.

Jackie was born April 29, 1941 to Jess and Exnah (Dunn) Newcomb in Disney, Oklahoma. She attended school in Chautauqua and Peru. On June 8, 1957 Jackie married Keith Buttel In Chautauqua, Kansas. They made their home in Caney, remodeling several homes through the years. Jackie’s favorite activities involved being outside – gardening, cleaning up brush and mowing. She also loved reading, decorating and was a terrific seamstress. She worked at Kopco and Phillips Petroleum and was a member of the Tyro Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, Jackie is survived by children Deb (John) Heady of Caney, Cindy (Jim) Moseley of Bartlesville and Russel (David) of Ochelata; three grandchildren, Gretchen (Derek) Speer of Rogers, Arkansas, Jeremy (Melissa) Moseley of Bartlesville, Blaine (Raaven) Heady of Bartlesville; six great grandchildren Deven, Amelia, Sadie and Tony Speer, Turner Moseley and Gianna Heady; two brothers Bill (Donna) Newcomb of Oolagah, Oklahoma, Jerry Newcomb and one sister Faye Lovelle of Broken Arrow.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Tyro Christian Church with Brian Ingalls and Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel.

Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Potts Chapel with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friends may leave online condolences at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.

The family has suggested memorials to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.
