Garry Bowersock

October 20, 1933 — July 7, 2015

Garry James Bowersock, 81, of Wayside, Kansas passed away Tuesday at the Medicalodge Independence.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Potts Chapel, Caney, Kansas with the Reverend Jerry Davidson of the Wayside Christian Church officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel.
Visitation will be held at the Potts Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p. m. Monday July 13, 2015 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p. m.
The family has suggested memorials to the Wayside Christian Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.
Garry was born October 20, 1933 in Montgomery County, Kansas the son of Ivan Walter and Edris Lucille (Dimmick) Bowersock.
He grew up in Montgomery County, Kansas attending and graduating from the Wayside School System. He then attended Coffeyville Community College after graduating he entered the University of Pittsburg and received his Bachelors Degree in Science.
Garry was united in marriage to Mary Alice Raymond in Lafontaine, Kansas the couple later divorced.
Garry was a Teacher and taught at several schools for 42 years he last taught in Caney, Kansas.
Survivors include one son Raymond Bowersock of Wayside, Kansas and two grandsons and one great grand daughter
