Edgar "Leroy" Rogers, age 76 of Caney, Kansas passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at his home in Caney, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Word of Truth Fellowship in Dewey, Oklahoma with the Pastor Jim Anderson officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Cremation will follow.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas.

Edgar "Leroy" Rogers was born October 11, 1940 in Caney, Kansas to Clarence and Daisy (Hyder) Rogers. He grew up in Caney, Kansas and graduated from the Bowring High School. Leroy entered the United States Marines and served until his honorable discharge. Leroy worked at various gas stations with his father after returning from service. In 1963 Leroy went to work for Reda Pump in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where he spent 39 years until his retirement in 2002.

On June 11, 1976 Leroy married Betty "Sue" Conditt in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where they made their home until moving to Caney, Kansas in 1983. Leroy loved to fish and was a member of the Gunny Sack Coffee crew.

Survivors include his wife Sue of the home; four children Amy Blackburn of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Brenda Faglie of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Mark Rogers of Caney, Kansas and Rebecca Rogers of Henrietta, Oklahoma; two brother Jerry Rogers of Palm Springs, California and Merle Rogers of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four sisters Patricia Barnett of Bowring, Oklahoma, Linda Ausmus of Caney, Kansas, Jean King and Jan Grisgby both of Coffeyville, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
