Eddie Carl Miller, passed away on February 19, 2022, at the age of 88, in Allen, Texas. His daughters and grandsons were close by when he went to his heavenly home.

Eddie was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Joseph and Laura (Beason) Miller, on November 28, 1933. He was the youngest of eleven children. Eddie attended school thru the eighth grade when he began masonry and construction work with his father and brothers. On November 30, 1956 he married the love of his life Barbara Gaylord. The two lived in Caney, Kansas and Independence, Kansas most of their married life. Eddie continued to work as a carpenter building and remodeling homes all over Southeast Kansas until he retired.

Compassion, caregiving and protector were what you would think of when you were able to get to know Eddie. He personally cared for many family members and friends. His kind words and gentle smile were a blessing to those he met.

Eddie loved to spend time with his family and friends, attending church, camping, working puzzles with Sharla and listening to The Gaithers and the Happy Goodmans. Eddie was a very active member in The Church of the Nazarene since he was 16.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara Miller, seven brothers and three sisters.

Eddie is survived by his daughter, Sharla Miller; daughter Sheryl Fruehling and her husband John ; grandsons Evan and wife Rachel; Ethan and wife Nicki; great grandson (arriving in June); many nephews and nieces, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Eddie’s name to Richardson Church of the Nazarene.
