Carolyn Allan

Carolyn J. Allan, Caney, KS passed away on January 24, 2021 at the Forrest Manor facility in Dewey, Oklahoma.  Cremation has taken place with Potts Chapel of Caney, KS.  The memorial service is to be announced.

Carolyn was born August 27, 1928 in Dedham, Massachusetts.  She was the daughter of H. Sumner Willis and Jane (Wilson) Willis.  She was raised in Dedham and graduated high school in 1946.  She married the love of her life, John W. Allan on May 25, 1949 in Dedham.  They made their home in Dedham and later raised three children in Norfolk, Massachusetts.  They moved to Maine and in 1988 moved to Florida for the sailing.  In their latter years, they moved to Caney, KS to be closer to family.

Carolyn was loved by many, leaving a loving and lasting memory.  She loved to garden, spending counting countless hours nourishing her flowers, giving her the name of “the flower lady”.

Carolyn was a tender and loving mother.  Her faith in Jesus guided her.  She so loved her Lord.

She was also a ham radio expert, baker, and an avid reader of the Bible and numerous books.  She was an experienced sailor, being the crew for John on their numerous sailing trips from Nova Scotia to the Bahamas.

Those preceding her in death were her husband John, son John S. Allan, and granddaughter Allison Allan.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters Nancy Cowell and Janice Knight, three grandchildren, Chris Allan, Aaron Knight, and Jesse Knight, and 9 great grandchildren.
