Verlie Arlene Graham, 94, passed away at Caney Guest Home Estates on Saturday, September 15, 2018.
She was born to Adna P. and Esther Kitterman April 5, 1924 in Longton, Kansas. She graduated from high school in 1941 and married Donald Graham on May 24, 1941. They moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and worked at Tinker Field making air plane parts for a year. They then moved to New Mexico where she worked on a ranch for 3 years. Then they moved to Caney, Kansas and she worked for 6 years at the Glass plant, 6 years at Electra in Independence, and 20 years at A.C.C. in Independence before retiring in May of 1986.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Adna and Esther Kitterman, husband, Donald Graham, sons, Gary Linn Graham, and Little Baby Graham, great grandson, little Gary Wayne Graham.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Dewayne Allen Graham of Tyro, Kansas, and Kimberly Ann Harmon of Caney, Kansas, seven great grandchildren, Elizabeth Louise Graham, Jennifer Kay Graham of Sedan, Kansas, Benjamin Paul Graham, Veronica Jenele Graham of Comanche, Oklahoma, Kaylee Dawn Graham of Tyro, Kansas, Thomas Graham Darius Harmon, and Casey Lynn Harmon of Caney, Kansas, and seven great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 18th at 1:00 PM at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made in Verlie’s name to Kindred Hospice and may be left at Potts Chapel in Caney. To leave the family a special message of condolence, please visit
