Alice was born July 27, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas to Charles Norman Fink and Evelyn Irene (Housel) Fink. Alice grew up in Cherryvale, and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1964. She attended Independence Community College and graduated from Pittsburg Stage University in 1969 with a BS in Education. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
Alice was united in marriage to Wendell R. Wells on November 1, 1969, in Cherryvale. He survives at the home. Alice taught elementary school in Weir, Kansas, Garfield, Kansas, and Cherryvale, Kansas. She is a member of the Cherryvale United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Alice was active in the Cherryvale Chapter of PEO Chapter DH. She served as their president from 1993-1995.
Alice loved to cook, collect recipes from everyone, and even has her own cookbook of collected recipes. Most of all, Alice loved her family and friends. She raided three children and two dogs, Daisy Duke and Shiloh.
She is survived by her husband, Wendell, of 47 years, son Charles Wells and wife Patricia of Kansas City, and brother, Charles O. Fink and wife Patricia of Cherryvale, five grandchildren: Veronica Wells, Connor Wells, Ashely Ward, Alyson Ward, Austin Ward, and son-in-law Troy Ward of Parsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Shannon Ward, and her son Thomas Wells.
Sonny (as I remember you) and family, you've been blessed with many, but not enough, years with a loving, wonderful woman. It's been a long time but I'll always remember Alice as one of the most gracious and sharp girls in our class. I know I have some high school pictures that I'd be happy to share later if you'd like them. So sorry for your loss.
